Tasting notes on the wine:
"The color is definitely just a kiss of orange, compared to some skin-contact wines that look like murky rust-water. Michel’s choice of Müller-Thurgau, a grape known for holding sweetness well, makes for a less-bitter skin-contact wine — more fruit-driven, with a toe dipped into the orange water. Consider this the Orange Julius of skin-contact wines, or the gateway drug to them: Taste frozen orange juice concentrate, underripe pineapple, and with a dash of grapefruit bitters, mulled spices, and earth." — June Rodil
About the winemaker:
"The Schloss Mühlenhof property is a large estate (which started in 1846) that is spread across the slopes above Kettenheim,. Now, in its sixth generation, the vines are overseen by Gabriele, Nicolas, and Walter Michel. The farm operates ‘organically’ but not by any legal standard. They follow what they call, ‘ecologically healthy’ farming practices, with the intent on capturing the pure expression of the Rheinhessen style." — Savio Soares Selections
