Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a monthly subscription?

Yes! When you place the order, you're opting in to a subscription for which you’ll automatically be charged once a month. Your first payment will process on the day you order; all subsequent recurring payments will process around the 10th of the month.

How do I manage my subscription?

When you place your first order, we recommend creating an account. (If you didn't, check your inbox for an email prompting you to activate your account, or click here and use the email address you used to sign up to create one.) Once you’ve got an account, you can log in and adjust the delivery frequency and the number of bottles, and you can pause or cancel shipments at any time, no strings attached.

Can I customize my wine box, e.g. choose red or white?

No — we’ve chosen our amazing expert curators because we’re excited to taste their personal wine selections, and we hope you’re excited to try them, too!

Where do you ship?

Our retail partners ship to all but the following U.S. states: Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Kentucky, Mississippi, Utah. 

When does my wine ship?

If you’re an existing subscriber, your wines will ship after your payment is processed on the 10th of the month. If it’s your first month with us, your wines will ship between the 10th and the 20th of the month, depending on when you ordered them.

Note that someone 21+ must be there to sign for the wine. 

How long will it take to get my order? 

On average, it takes about 3-5 business days for subscribers to receive their wine. In larger metropolitan areas, it will likely be less, and for more rural areas, it could take a day or two more. You will get tracking information in your confirmation email.

Note: Due to COVID-19, our retailers are seeing extra strain on their distribution network. Most orders placed during the business week are set to ship within 1-3 days of ordering. All weekend orders will begin processing on Monday, and it may take 1-3 business days to ship as well.

What are the shipping costs?

Ground shipping, as well as taxes, are included in the club pricing! Should you like to expedite the package, reach out to hello@eaterwineclub.com and we can quote it for you. 

As noted above, someone 21+ must be there to sign for the wine. Our shippers will try up to three times to get your wine to you, but if you miss your three delivery attempts and your box is sent back to us, you'll be charged $25 for the return shipping and restocking fee. 

Can I cancel or adjust my shipments? 

Yep! You’ll just need to ensure you’ve created an account. (If you didn't do that, you can make one now here using the email address you used to sign up, and you'll be able to access your info.) To pause shipments, adjust your frequency, or cancel, just log in to your account and click “Manage Subscriptions.” There’s no contract, and you’re not locked in to a certain amount of shipments.

What's your return/refund policy? 

We want you to be satisfied with your wine purchase. If you are dissatisfied with any product you receive from us, email us at hello@eaterwineclub.com within 30 days of delivery. We will work with you to resolve the problem to your complete satisfaction. Note that customers are responsible for covering the cost of return shipping and any pickup fees associated with their order size and location.

How do I give someone Eater Wine Club as a gift?

Our gift page makes it easy: Choose how many bottles you want your recipient to get each month (two or four), and how many months you want to sign them up for (one, two, or three). When checking out, you’ll pay for all the months upfront, in a single payment. 

After you check out, you’ll receive a confirmation email that includes a link for you to send to your gift recipient, so that they know you got them a gift (hooray!) and they can register to receive Eater Wine Club emails (including intel on each month’s theme and an invitation to the monthly virtual events) for the duration of their membership.  

Note that we aren’t able to insert gift notes in boxes at this time, although your name will appear on your recipient’s packing slip. Also note that, even once your gift recipient signs up to receive Eater Wine Club emails, they still won’t receive shipping confirmation emails; those will hit your inbox, so we recommend you forward them to the gift recipient.

Your recipient’s Club membership will expire after they’ve received all their gifted boxes.

When are the virtual events? Do I need to have the wine to participate in them?

Our events will take place on a weeknight around the end of each month, leaving enough time for you to receive your box. As the host of the event, the wine expert curating that month’s wines will share a deep dive on the theme plus a fun rundown of tasting notes — we’ll let you know when you receive your box which wine we’ll be drinking together, so you can taste along. But no sweat if you don’t have it on hand! We’ll be hanging out, drinking whatever you’ve got, and enjoying some surprises along the way.
