Tasting notes on the wine:

“This is history in a bottle; a wine that is raw, true to itself, with Chilean terroir on every sip. The pronounced aromas of dusty dark cherries, plums with hints of dry rose petals, hibiscus, fresh spices, and licorice will keep you on your toes. The palate is round and earth-driven, and the acidity and mineral concentration keeps this wine alive so you can enjoy it 3-4 days after opening. Decant is strongly recommended, so is pairing with slow-roasted brisket and yucca fries.” — Pedro J. Rodriguez

About the winemaker:

“One of favorite producers in Chile, el señor Renan Cancino is a master of interpreting the soul of Chilean viticulture. Huaso means cowboy in Chile and Sauzal is the location where Cancino and his family make the wines in the historic wine region of Maule. This particular wine comes from 300 year old vines, hence the elegance, freshness, and complexity you’ll find.  — Pedro J. Rodriguez
