Tasting notes on the wine:

Smooth, fresh, with a hint of smoke and juicy red fruits. You’ll likely catch the tobacco note which is coming from age. Feel free to drink now or let it keep going for a few years to gain even more complexity! — Holly Berrigan

About the winemaker:

Domaine des Quatre Pierres was created by Edouard Fortin from the aftermath of a terrible arson attack on his vineyard and cellar where the winemakers of the region came together to donate their grapes for him to continue his production and it is a great thing that they did! El Pépé is a gorgeous example of ageable carignan from 75 year old vines. As tasty as it is rare, I was stunned to find out we could get enough for this club!   — Holly Berrigan
