Tasting notes on the wine:

"There is a lot going on in this bone-dry rosé made from gamay grapes. A pale salmon color, it shows expressive soft red fruit notes including wild strawberries, and is both unexpectedly complex, mineral, and weighty, especially after a little time left in the glass." — Isabelle Legeron

About the winemaker:

"A two-year quest using topographical maps eventually saw Benoit and Céline Blet stumble across the Oiron in 2004. Located some 30 miles south of the Loire, on an old terroir that time forgot, it ticked all their boxes with a rocky plateau and sandy-clay soils laced with dusty-colored iron-rich sandstone. Nowadays they organically farm 24 acres made up of tiny plots separated by forests, prairies, and bird sanctuaries. Benoit and Céline are all about low-impact farming; they collaborate with a local herbalist who collects red vine leaves from their rare, local gamay de Bouze vines in exchange for medicinal herbs they then use for biodynamic teas." — Isabelle Legeron
