Tasting notes on the wine:

"This is Onda Brava’s rosé or rosado made from país grapes, the first grape brought to the Americas by colonizers. It’s known for a thin skin and in this version coming from Itata in Chile, this wine leans into the savory side of rosé that isn’t quite typical but just as fun for spring festivities. It sings of blood orange and red currant dashed with sea salt and fresh ground black pepper. I would enjoy this at a picnic with a tin of Portuguese mackerel, fresh crusty bread, and your favorite grain mustard. The lime pith notes on the palate also beg for this to be jazzed up next to a bowl of Peruvian-style ceviche with sweet potato. Yum!" - Jirka Jireh

About the winemaker:

"When California winemaker Dani Rozman and Chilean winemaker Leonardo Erazo get together, there’s magic to be made. The two run Onda Brava, a Chile-based wine project that is a reflection of both their styles. Dani’s vision is to create a dialogue between countries within our own hemisphere that have a similar history, climate, soil, and grapes. In this particular case, we’re talking about granitic soils and own-rooted vines. In Dani’s words, 'I think it's more interesting and instructive to look at commonalities between wine regions on the American continent rather than measuring California wines against those from Europe.' I couldn't agree more." - Jirka Jireh
