Pedro J. Rodriguez (right) was born in California but grew up in his native Puerto Rico. He moved to Washington D.C. in 2007 after completing graduate school in Barcelona, Spain; and soon after his arrival began a career in international media development. He quickly realized he had even bigger dreams of becoming an entrepreneur and working directly with what he loves: food, wine, people, and Latin American culture. Pedro and his co-owner Julio R. Robledo opened Grand Cata’s flagship store in D.C.'s historic Shaw neighborhood in 2016. In 2020 Grand Gata expanded to the Union Market District with a wine bar and market within La Cosecha. Both locations were awarded Top 50 Retailers in America by Wine Enthusiast in 2020 and 2021 respectively. Pedro is an advanced certified Wine and Spirits professional by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust.
