Guiding us through our February wines are Kyla Peal and Marie Cheslik, the founding duo behind Chicago-based Slik Wines. Kyla and Marie started Slik in 2020 as a way to bring their decades of hospitality experience to folks outside the traditional walls of a restaurant. (Kyla is currently the assistant sommelier at anticipated October opening, Claudia; and Marie was most recently the wine director at Michelin-starred restaurant, Elske. Their Slik mission? To demystify the wine industry and to have the diversity of wines produced around the world reflect the diversity of the people who drink them. Slik achieves this through online and in-person wine courses, at-home cellar consultations, a monthly wine club, and robust (and incredibly entertaining) Instagram tutorials.
